Executive VP*: OPEN
  • Works as the primary aide to the president. The Executive VP helps lead the PTA towards specific goals consistent with PTA purposes and policies. Performs president's duties in his or her absence. Carries out other duties outlined in unit bylaws and standing rules or as assigned. They will work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator and President to ensure that all committee chairs and appointed board positions are filled.
 
Co-VP of Afterschool Programs*: OPEN
  • Attend monthly PTSA board meetings and general membership meetings  
  • Attend at least one PTSA sponsored training event  
  • Develop plan with Board of all after school programs that will be offered for the year  
  • Secure Independent Contractors - interview and talk with prospective contractors to see if their program is what you want represented at Rachel Carson  
  • Maintain vendor contracts/student behavior contracts for all programs - Volunteer Information Packet with Background Check form to be complete before beginning of first class  
  • Work with Independent Contractors to schedule building times and space for programs, create flyers, and set policies.  
  • Set deadlines for registration, work with Treasurer transfer monies from PayPal to Carson’s account. 
  • Create class rosters, including all contact and parent information - provide copies to the front office (excel spreadsheet) and all Carson teachers. 
  • Provide information for Falcon Flyer and PTSA website postings 
 
Co-VP of Fundraising*: OPEN
  • Responsible for implementing fundraising activities approved by the Board, including scheduling and publicity for fundraising events. Report on fundraising efforts, answer questions, document and deliver any funds raised to PTSA treasurer.
  • Coordinate Rachel Carson PTSA's ongoing "no-effort" fundraising projects (via committee chair), including eScrip and Box Tops.
  • Assist as needed with other PTSA/school fundraising opportunities/ special events, such as: Ice Cream Social, International Night, and Art Walk.
 
Membership*: OPEN
  • Responsible for the uploading of membership applications to the software system used by Washington State PTA's, holding membership drives at the beginning and middle of the school year.
 
*Each of these positions also participates in the monthly PTSA Board Meetings and General Membership Meetings and attends at least one PTSA sponsored training event during the year.
