We are collecting new or gently used toys to distribute at the local Hopefest event in March. This is an annual 1-day event offering free food, clothing and services to needy families in our community.  While you are spring cleaning, please consider donating toys in good condition to this worthy cause.  They are hoping to promise a toy for each child attending the event. The PTSA is looking for new or veteran PTSA parents to help out on the Nominating Committee, which helps find new board members for positions opening up next year. The Nominating Committee is a short-term volunteer position starting now and running through the end of the school year. Some confidential meetings with other committee members are required to discuss the leadership skills and fit with the other committee members. Sign your 2 nd – 5 th grader up for the Rachel Carson Ski Bus. Registration deadline is Tuesday, November 19, 2019 Details: The program starts Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Summit Central Ski Area and continues for six consecutive weeks finishing on February 12, unless weather forces postponement. The 5th grade needs your help! Next Tuesday (9/24), we are having our first fundraiser to help support 5th grade camp. This fundraiser is as simple as heading to MOD pizza, ordering a pizza, and saying "We are here to support Rachel Carson Elementary". A generous portion of the profit will be sent to Rachel Carson after the event. This is a fun event to not only support the 5th grade, but to help build community among families from Rachel Carson.
