Yearbook Cover Contest 

Step into the vibrant world of creativity at Rachel Carson Elementary, where young minds ignite their imagination in the annual school-wide visual art competition!

For the theme "Rain or Shine-beneath the same sky,". Your art could show the breathtaking beauty of the Pacific Northwest where every day tells a new story in the sky! From gentle rain showers and misty forests to glowing sunsets, rainbows, and the dancing Northern Lights, nature paints our world in amazing colors. Whether it’s the sparkle of sunshine on the ocean, snow on the mountains, or raindrops on green leaves, we all share the same sky of wonder. Let’s celebrate our beautiful home here by creating art inspired by these magical moments — rain or shine!

The coveted first prize includes not only the honor of being the school's artistic champion but also the privilege of having their masterpiece grace the cover of this year's yearbook. Your creation will be immortalized on the front page and will be cherished by students, parents, and teachers alike for years to come!

So here is how you enter the visual art competition (see format example):

A. You must be a continuing Rachel Carson Student.

B. One entry per student.

C. The theme is "Rain or Shine-beneath the same sky,"

D. Art done by the student, original and independent work.

E. Art work done in PORTRAIT layout ONLY.

F. Include the words RACHEL CARSON ELEMENTARY 2025-2026 in your artwork.

G. Please print in pencil on the BACK of your artwork:

a. Your name,

b. Your grade and

c. Your class teacher’s name.

H. Describe your artwork in less than 100 words on a separate piece of paper.

I. Finally, attach your art work paper AND your paper with description together AND

J. Submit your artwork at Rachel Carson office by December 1st, 2025 - Monday!
