Dear Rachel Carson Families, 

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year at Rachel Carson Elementary! I hope everyone had a safe and relaxing summer break. I am highly anticipating seeing everyone on September 6th when we begin the new school year! We will confidently partner together to provide a high-quality education to each of our students. 

Even though it is summer break, we have been busy at Rachel Carson preparing for the upcoming school year. I’d like to take this time to share staffing changes, provide you with important information, as well as inform you on important dates for the first few months of the school year.   

First, let’s welcome our new staff members to the Carson family:

Please note that staffing is not final, and changes may occur due to additional enrollment. 

It is important that we have updated information for your student. We ask that parents review, update, and verify emergency information prior to school starting on September 6th. This can be done by logging into Skyward and accessing the Students and Families tab. 

August and September are busy times at Rachel Carson Elementary. Listed below are a few important dates to add to your calendars. 

• August 30th-31st                 Class Placement sent to families 
• September 1st                    Meet and Greet at Carson, 2:00-3:00. Hope to see you all here! 
• September 6th                   First Day of School (1st – 5th grade) 

Coffee and Conversation in the commons (9:00 am) 

• September 6th-8th             Family Connection Meetings (Kindergarten Only)              
• September 9th                    First Day of Kindergarten              
• September 12th                 First day of Preschool 
• September 16th                 First day of SNAPS 

I am looking forward to beginning the 2022-2023 school year and hope you are as well. Carson is fortunate to have a dynamic group of educators, supportive parents, and amazing students. We will surely have a fantastic year where each student will learn and grow while having fun along the way!
